ESSAY CONTEST

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
ESSAY CONTEST 2008

Sixth Annual Middle and High School Essay Contest

We are pleased to announce the results for this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest. 207 essays were submitted, from Urbana Middle School, Franklin Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, Edison Middle School, Campus Middle School, Central High School, Urbana High School, READY school, University High School, and University High School, Tucson, Arizona.

We want to emphasize that the essay contest is focused on participation rather than competition; every student who entered showed their involvement in the legacy of Dr. King for students today. We will be honoring all the participants with a certificate, an article in the News-Gazette, and will be displaying quotes from many essays in the U of I Main Library and other places in the community.
